Many of you know Andrew got involved with a percussion group. It's a competitive indoor percussion group and is--in many ways--an expanded drum line adding movement and dancers. He's been rehearsing with them since November. In January, he had to ramp up rehearsals and he now goes in from about 6-11 on Friday night and from 8:30-5 on Saturday--plus a performance most Saturday nights.
Recently, they had a fundraiser concert and performed part of their piece. Unfortunately, the church didn't have a large enough stage to get all of the movement, but you can get a glimpse of what he does. I'll be uploading some pictures soon, too.
Andrew is just about in the center. He plays one of the two keyboards and he's the one on the right in this video. Hope you enjoy and can get a sense of what they are doing. I'm hoping to videotape the whole thing at a rehearsal or at their final show.
There are only a couple 8th graders and one young girl dancer. Everyone else in this group is high school and college aged. That made it extra exciting for Andrew to be invited to join them. It has truly kicked his abilities up a notch or two. We are so proud of all the kids. They put in a lot of long hours and hard work to get their precision down and their music learned. They are an inspiration to me!
